When it comes to recreational vehicles or camping in general, the biggest request of most that enjoy this type of recreation is the need to get satellite TV no matter where they’re camped. In the past there where a lot of limitations that prevented this from happening, but times have changed, and what was once something that was unattainable is now only a call away. Through a new product line known as the Dish Tailgater, those who want to get satellite television reception in their RVs, trucks, campers, or even out next to their tent can do so using this unique technology. The Tailgater comes in 4 different models, each geared toward particular groups who will find it unique to their purpose.
Automatic Portables
The automatic portables are used for most outdoor activities, like tailgating and camping, and is very lightweight which makes it perfectly portable. It supports 1 single tuner receiver, and has the ability to automatically locate 1 predetermined satellite. It runs in the $700 to $800 price range.
Satellite Dish Tripods
The tripod units are also portable like the Automatic Portables, and are perfect for tailgaters and camping due to their ability to be placed in remote locations. They stand about 5 feet in height, so they aren’t quite as compact as the Automatic Portables, but they are lower in cost (typical price range between $130 to $180), have the ability to support multiple and dual-tuner receivers, and can be manually positioned to point toward a choice of 3 different satellites.
Fixed Automatic DISH Antenna
This permanently mounted satellite unit is most typically used on RVs, and has the ability to automatically position itself on up to 3 different satellites. It supports multiple, and dual-tuner receivers, and runs around $1400.
Domes
Domes are permanently mounted dishes that are aerodynamically made to offer better wind resistance while in transit, so they can not only be used on the RV, but can also be perfect for trucks or other vehicles that need to be as streamlined as possible. They automatically point to 1 satellite at a time and support 1 single tuner receiver, but have the added benefit of being able to operate while in motion. The Domes range in price from $900 to $1400 in price.
